Locations
Use Locations to monitor activity across your facilities, work areas, and other locations from one place. View location status, request assistance, assign operators, and review related runs, work orders, issues, and inventory.
The Locations Callboard is available in Planning > Locations. New Locations can be configured under Settings > Locations.
Opening and navigating Locations Callboard
In the left navigation, go to Planning > Locations. The Locations panel displays a hierarchy of locations and sub-locations.
Use Search locations to find a location, or Expand all and Collapse all to navigate the hierarchy.
Select a location to open its details in the center panel. The colored status indicator beside each location helps you identify its current condition at a glance.
The location header shows its name and identifier, current status, and, when applicable, a separate rolled-up status for its sub-locations.
Use This location or + Sub-locations in the Filter by control to change the scope of the information displayed. A parent may be Running while a sub-location Needs help; the rollup makes that distinction visible.
Updating a Location Status
Under Status, select Running, Warning, Idle, or Needs help to reflect the location’s current state.
The selection updates the location’s indicator in the hierarchy and is recorded in its activity/chat feed.
Statuses make it easier to see which areas are active and which may require attention. A change to a child location can also affect the status rolled up to its parent.
Requesting assistance with Call for help
When a location requires assistance, use Call for help from its location controls.
Enter a brief explanation in "What do you need?" and, if needed, choose operators in Notify operators. Select Call for help to submit the request.
The location status switches to Needs help and displays a prominent Help requested message with the reason, while parent locations can show a rolled-up Needs help indicator.
To update the request, select Edit reason. Once the request has been addressed, select Resolve - clear help. The help request is cleared and the resolution is recorded in the location chat feed. Operators can continue to update the normal location status as work progresses.
Assigning operators and communicating
The Assignment section identifies operators associated with the selected location. Use the Operators selector to assign or update the operators working there.
The Chat panel on the right provides location-specific discussion and an activity history, including status changes, help requests, and resolutions.
Enter a comment at the bottom of the panel to communicate with others about that location. Activity for child locations may also be visible when reviewing a parent.
Viewing and managing location maps
The Map section displays an image or floor plan associated with a location. Use the zoom controls to inspect it.
Where a location has sub-locations represented on a map, use the map selector to choose the view; labeled points help identify their locations within the larger site. For example, a terminal can have a terminal-wide plan showing individual gates, while a gate can have its own image. Workspace administrators can use Edit to manage a location map.
Reviewing sub-locations and related work
Scroll below the map to see the Sub-locations section, including counts of locations in each status.
Select a sub-location to open its record. The location page also brings together related Runs, Work Orders, and Issues so you can review work associated with the selected area and open the linked records.
Which records you can see may depend on your project permissions.
The Items section lists inventory associated with the location, with quantities, tracking information, and status where available. Tool information can also be reviewed when associated with a location. These sections provide operational visibility; they are not a substitute for inventory transactions.
Access and administration
Workspace members can view Locations. Updating location status or calling for help requires workspace-level Operate permission. Managing location definitions, importing locations, and editing floor-plan maps require workspace administrator access. Project permissions determine visibility of related runs, work orders, and issues.
Planning > Locations is the operational location view. It is separate from Settings > Workspace > Locations, which is used for workspace location configuration. The operational Locations page does not scan barcodes or QR codes; to scan and move inventory, use the Inventory screen.
