Auto Generate Procedure ID

Automatically create unique identification codes for new and revised procedures.

Updated over a week ago

Settings > Procedures > Enable "Auto generate procedure ID"

This will impact all newly created revisions and drafts.

Drafts created before turning on Auto generate procedure ID will not respond to the setting. Those drafts need to be released, and then users will need to create a new draft in order for the auto generation to work.

The ID prefix will be generated AFTER selecting the Project.

Procedures not assigned to a Project will not have a prefix. A unique ID number will still be assigned. Creating Projects is a great way to stay organized.

AFTER clicking on Create Procedure, you'll see the auto generated ID in the Draft.

You can change the Project at any point during draft. The ID prefix will auto update to the new Project's abbreviation. Click OK to proceed with the change.

All new procedures connected to that Project will be given the next ID number in the sequence.

TIP: Once all procedures have been assigned to projects, and unique ID's have been generated, the "Tree View" becomes a great way to visualize and organize your procedures. Individual Users can "Save Default View" if they prefer tree view
