Operations Overview

A quick guide on the Running, Planning, and Ended stages of Operations.

Updated over a week ago

Navigate to the Operations module in the left navigation pane.

There is a search bar at the top of the window. Apply a search keyword and the search will remain when navigating across the Planning, Running, and Ended tabs.

TIP! If you would like to add/edit/remove a run from a Running or Ended Operation, check out the Setting an Operation article for more info.

Running

This will default to the Running tab where you can see the list of all Operations that are currently running, as well as their associated participants and progress.

There is a quick access End button available from the Running tab for any Operations that have 100% completion.

The list will display 50 Operations at a time on any given tab. Use the left and right arrows to navigate through the pages.

Clicking into a Running Operation will display the Events in the Operation along with their associated procedure, status, start time, duration, participants, and progress.

TIP!

You can add a new or already running procedure to a running operation!

Click into the operation from the Running tab and click + Add Event.

Fill in the Event details. To add a new run, choose a procedure using the Select Procedure drop down. To add an existing run, choose the run from the Select Existing Run drop down.

Existing runs can ONLY be added to Running Operations. Existing Runs can not be added to Operations in the Planning stage.

Planning

In the Planning tab, you can see a list of all Operations that are being built or have not yet been started.

There is a quick access Start button available from the Planning tab for any Operations that have at least one procedure added.

Click into an Operation in Planning to add additional Events, or use the 3 dot menu to duplicate or Start the Operation.

Starting an Operation will move it from Planning to Running, but the Events within the operation can all be started independently of each other.

Events / Procedure runs can be added to an Operation in Planning by selecting the + Add Event button and filling in the Event details.

Event Name is the only required field to create the event.

Existing runs can ONLY be added to Running Operations. Existing Runs can not be added to Operations in the Planning stage.

Clicking into the Event from the Operation Overview screen will allow you to edit or delete the event using the 3 dot menu.

Run is greyed out for Operations still in the Planning stage. Runs can only be started for Operations in the Running stage.

Clicking + New Operation from the Planning, Running, or Ended tabs will bring up a window to enter the name and description of the new operation.

When you hit save, it will bring you to the Operation Overview screen for the operation you just created.

You can also now see and access this operation in the Planning tab.

Tip!

If you have operations that you will need to run more than once or that are similar, you can easily Duplicate an operation with all of it's associated procedures. Click into the operation from the Planning, Running, or Ended tab, then click Duplicate in the 3 dot menu.

Ended

When all procedures in the operation have been ended, the operation can be ended either from the Running tab or the Operation Overview screen of a running operation.

The End button will be greyed out until all affiliated procedures have an end status associated (Success, Abort, Failure, Completed).

The Ended tab lists all ended operations.

Clicking into an Ended operation will allow you to see what procedures were run during the operation along with their associated status, participants, Start Date/Time, Duration, and progress bar.
