Save as Snippet

Snippets are a great way to save entire Sections or Steps that you want to reuse when building out procedures.

Hover over the Section or Step you would like to save for future use.

Click the + sign next to the Section or Step and select Save as Snippet.

A window will pop up to enter the NAME and DESCRIPTION of your Snippet.

Click Submit to save

Insert Snippets in a Procedure

Click the + sign next to a Section or Step.

Select Insert Snippet.

Select the + next to a Section name to add a Section Snippet or next to a Step name to add a Step Snippet

The new Section / Step will appear below the selected Section / Step

Use the drop down menu to select the Snippet you want to add.

Click Insert Snippet.

Make changes to only this snippet

If you want to make changes to this snippet but you do not want to change the original snippet you can DETACH the snippet

This will bring up the following warning:

Click Proceed to continue with detaching the Snippet and allow changes.

View / Edit Saved Snippets

Navigate to the Snippets Management screen located under the Procedures module.

On this screen you can view the Snippet name, type, and last edited by and date. You can also search Snippets and create a new snippet.

New snippets can also be created from Edit mode of a procedure!

Click on the name of a snippet to view the Details screen for that Snippet.

On the Details screen you can view and edit the snippet and view the Where Used history of the snippet with direct links to the steps.

This can be helpful when editing a snippet so you can see exactly what procedures will be impacted!

Click the vertical 3 dot menu in the top right corner to duplicate or delete the snippet.

When a snippet has been modified, entering Edit mode for a procedure containing that snippet will alert you to the changes and give you the option to either retain the original / procedure version and detach the snippet or switch to the latest version and accept the changes.
