Resources

View and manage user resource profiles from the Planning module, including basic user details, schedules, performance records, and HR-only personnel information.

Updated this week

Resources gives your team a centralized place to view user profiles in Epsilon3.

From the new Resources page under the Planning module, users with the appropriate permissions can browse other users in the workspace and open a profile to view work-relevant information such as contact details, team name, location, timezone, skills, certifications, activity, and schedule.

For organizations using Epsilon3 for broader workforce management, Resources also adds dedicated areas for Performance Records and Personnel File information.

These sections make it possible for HR and administrators to maintain employee details, document growth over time, and keep sensitive personnel information in one place.

Resource Permissions

Access to Resources is controlled through Roles.

To view the Resources page and open other users’ profiles, a role must include View > Resources.

To manage Resources-related settings and edit resource records, a role must include Admin > Manage Resources.

Because this page can include sensitive employee data, access should be granted thoughtfully based on what each person needs to do in Epsilon3.

View Resources

To access Resources, open the left navigation menu and go to Planning > Resources.

The Resources page displays a searchable table of users in your workspace. From here, you can browse users and review high-level information directly from the list, including:

  • Name

  • Email

  • Job Title

  • Team Name

  • Location

Use the Search Resources field to quickly find a specific user. Once you locate the person you want, click their name to open their profile.

NOTE: The Performance Records and Personnel File tabs are ONLY visible with the Admin: Manage Resources permission.

The page also supports bulk user updates. Select the box next to a user or users and click edit users.

Details and Schedule

Users with view-only access can browse the profiles of other users to see the basic information relevant to their work. View-only users will only be able to see the Details and Schedule tabs.

The Details tab is designed as the primary overview page for that resource. It gives a clear snapshot of the user’s profile information in a format that is easy to review without opening multiple settings areas.

When a profile is opened, the Details tab provides an overview of that user’s core information, such as:

  • First name and last name

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Job title

  • Team name

  • Location

  • Timezone

  • Skills and Certifications

This allows teammates, leads, and managers to quickly confirm who someone is, what team they belong to, and the best timezone to consider when coordinating work.

The Details page can also include additional informational sections such as Skills & Certification and Activity, depending on how your workspace is using Resources.

The Schedule tab shows that user’s Work Schedule as a standard weekly schedule. Each day of the week is listed with columns for:

  • Start Time

  • End Time

  • Hours

A Weekly Total is shown at the bottom.

This view is useful when confirming availability patterns, standard work hours, or expected scheduling structure for a specific resource. If no schedule has been configured, the daily rows will remain blank and the weekly total will reflect zero hours.

If your organization uses skills tracking, the Skills & Certification section will show any assigned skills or certifications. If none have been added, the profile will show that no skills are assigned.

The Activity section appears at the bottom of the Details page and can be expanded or reviewed to understand recent profile-related activity.

Track employee growth with Performance Records

NOTE: This is only available with Admin: Manage Resources permissions.

Open the user’s profile and click Performance Records.

The Performance Records tab is designed to provide a chronological record of performance observations, achievements, and growth-related notes for that user.

Each entry is displayed as a note in timeline-style order, showing who added the note and when it was recorded. This creates a running history that can help managers and HR teams document progress over time.

If you have permission to manage resources, you can add a new entry by clicking Add Note. This makes Performance Records a useful place to capture things like coaching observations, milestones, accomplishments, and promotion-readiness notes.

The entries can be edited or deleted by hovering and clicking the icon.

Because these records are tied directly to the employee’s profile, teams can keep performance context organized and easy to revisit.

Manage confidential employee information in the Personnel File

The Personnel File is intended for confidential HR-managed information. At the top of the page, Epsilon3 clearly indicates that this information is restricted to authorized HR personnel only, and that users can never view their own personnel file.

This tab includes several sections for employee record keeping:

  • User Details

  • Emergency Contact

  • Pay

  • Employment Details

  • Personnel Notes
