Suggest Edits While Running

Suggested Edits / Redlines / Blueline / Add a step during a run.

Updated over a year ago

Redlines are suggested edits or additional steps that will be available / visible for incorporation in the next Draft of the procedure.

Bluelines are suggested edits or additional steps that will only apply to the run in which the suggestions are made. They will not appear in the next Draft version.

Navigate to any currently running procedure.

Only Field Inputs or text inputs such as titles, Caution, Note, Text, and Warning (not including Tables) can be changed for suggested edits however a suggested edit comment can be added for any step to provide additional context.

Navigate to any step that you would like to change and click SUGGEST EDITS.

Click the pencil icon next to the substep you would like to suggest the edit.

Make the desired changes and click save.

You will be prompted to select if this change will be a Redline or a Blueline. Once selected click the Confirm button.

NOTE: When you save the suggested edit you will see a red or blue Strikethrough S with a dot indicating an edit has been suggested. Clicking on that icon will show you the suggested edit and give you the option to "Include in Run" which will change the field to the new suggestion. This will be marked with the Strikethrough S with no dot.

Once you select Include in Run you can not undo it, but you can click the pencil icon and redo it.

Include in Run is not an option for Suggested Edits on steps that have been completed, failed, or skipped.

Make any Comments on Suggested Edits in the Comment filed and click POST to save.

TIP! This is a great place to give more context on the edits you have suggested and/or provide suggestions for any fields that can not be edited directly.

ADDITIONAL INFO

  • Once any user has signed off on a multi-user step no more suggested edits can be made.

  • If a step is skipped or repeated the suggestions already made will be carried over and additional suggestions can be made on the subsequent steps.

  • The ability to suggest edits is tied to Operator Roles. Check out this article on Suggest Edit Permissions for more details!

Suggest edits are designed to be used to show what was executed during a procedure run and will be available for incorporation into the next version of a procedure when a new draft is completed if Redline is suggested.

In the run, you can see how many Redlines or Bluelines have been suggested but not included in the run at the top of the page. You can scroll through these using the arrows on either side of the Suggested Edits Symbol.

For Redlines, when editing the next draft of the procedure, you can scroll through these Redlines by clicking the arrows on either side of the Suggested Edits icon at the top of the page in Edit mode. Bluelines will not carry over into this Draft.

Adding a step or steps to a running procedure will also create a Redline or Blueline when saved.
