Reference Documentation

Manage your design documents, concepts of operation, and more directly with E3.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Epsilon3 Reference Documents are like procedures that are not executable. Release process and Version History are supported, and Reference Documents can also be linked to from procedures.

Navigate to the References section of the Library module.

Click +New Reference Doc to create a new reference document. There are two options for creating new documents: Create and Import.

Create

This option allows you to build the Reference Document from scratch.

Fill in the new reference modal and click Create Reference.

The new document will look very similar to a new procedure, with a few less content block options.

If you are familiar with building a procedure, this works much the same way. If you need more information, check out the articles below:

Only the following content blocks are supported:

  • Text

  • Note

  • Caution

  • Warning

  • Requirement

  • File

  • Jump to

  • Link to Procedure

  • Table

Import

This option utilizes AI to intelligently build out a document draft from a .docx or .pdf.

After selecting a file to upload, you will see a message that states Upload successful. You will receive a notification when the procedure is imported. This may take several minutes.

The AI will intelligently build out a procedure draft. Clicking on the notification will take you to the Edit screen of the draft.

We support creating Text, Note, Caution, and Warning content blocks from the import.

Attachments and Tables are not currently supported.

If the procedure import fails, the notification will alert you to the failed import.

Always review the procedure for correctness and as additional steps and content blocks, as needed.

Note: Strict contracts with AWS GovCloud AI & LLM sub-processors explicitly prevent the use of your data for model training.

Document Settings & Review

Navigate to Settings on the reference draft to set or change the Owner, Project, Header, or Footer.

Review and Release process is the same as with procedures.

Once released, the Reference can be printed, archived, or duplicated using the 3 dot menu in the top right. You are also able to create a new draft.
